This 70 + bedroom group hotel based close to Oxford are recruiting for a hands on Sous Chef to join their kitchen team and work with and support a new Head Chef.
The operation consists of 70 cover restaurant as well as a number of M&E rooms with the largest suite for over 100 guests as well various other meeting rooms across the hotel.
The hotel offers a British menus at present using generally fresh produce and this is also same in the M&E areas of the hotel for weddings,events etc.
As Sous Chef you will deputise for the Head Chef and as part of the management team work to ensure a consistent quality within the food and also ensure all food safety and will be working with the kitchen brigade in a hands on role and to assist,support and offer ongoing training and development to each member of the team.
You will be able to ensure a consistently high quality of food,also you will be aware of all food safety and hygiene standards at work to ensure a 5 star rating on the next inspection and also with the previous Head Chef having been at the venue for many years this person will have the opportunity to write and develop the menus in all areas of the hotel..
Also work consistently towards the food GP margins along with management of stock controls as well as food purchasing.
Reporting direct to the General Manager and as part of the hotel management team be required to attend HOD meetings etc.
