Great new vacancy for a Head Chef nr Ullswater
Head Chef required for an outstanding restaurant in the Lake District near Ullswater
The operation part of a local group consists of 100 cover restaurant offering a high standard of food and service using fresh and when possible local produce to the local residents as well as a venue that is popular to visiting tourists when in the area due to the excellent reputation in and around the region.
As Head Chef you will be working as part of the senior management of the operation and working with a kitchen brigade and working with them to assist,support and offer ongoing training and development to each member of the team.
The venue is open 7 days a week and offers all day dining in a casual environment as well as an outside area that increases the covers by approx 60 guests when the weather is suitable and the pub also serves a traditional Sunday lunch.
You will have involvement in all aspects of the kitchen which will include dealing with suppliers and ensuring you are getting the best produce,also working to achieve the agreed targets which includes Food GP,wage costs and the general hygiene and legal areas of the kitchen.
Due to the location during summer season the food sales can achieve in excess of £30k gross and then during winter is very quiet other than at weekends,so it is important that you have the skills to be able to scale up and down as the requirements of the business demand.
Reporting direct to the General Manager this role will suit an individual looking for a high end food offering but also to be involved with a large company and the ability to have an input in the menu when required.
£35k,bonus,tips and benefits and live in is also available.
