Head Chef – Southport area

£38k/40k basic salary,annual bonus,food gp bonus,pension,company discounts

This client’s hotel based in the Southport area are recruiting for a hands on Head Chef to lead the kitchen operations and team and to manage and ensure standards of the food in all areas including the hotel main restaurant,meeting,events,weddings etc as well as Afternoon Teas and casual dining in the lounge and bar areas of the hotel.

The hotel is well located in the town with a great reputation and popular with both local residents as well as the corporate clients based in the region.

The food is generally local and as much fresh produce as possible using many local suppliers with the restaurant serving modern British food and also similar food style for the events,functions etc.

You will be working with a team of chefs and create a positive work in the kitchen department as well as the other hotels departments.

As Head Chef you will lead the team, ensuring the food is served to the highest of quality, all health & safety aspects of the business are compliant & undertake the training/recruitment of future kitchen team members ranging from KP’s to all levels of chefs in the kitchen.

You will have the ability to have creative input into the menu and working alongside the GM, creating seasonal menus using all fresh local food.

The client requires the chef to work 45 hours per week over 5 days, shift start times can vary depending on the needs and requirements of the business.

Reporting direct to the General Manager and work to increase the standard of food as well as to control costs in the department.
