Job Description

Conference Events Sales Manager – Humber area
£40k with quarterly bonus of £2k,excellent company benefits and group discounts,pension etc
We are presently working with this superbly appointed hotel in the Humber region for an individual to manage the sales of all conferences and events within this 4 star hotel
The hotel has over 120 bedrooms with various facilities for events and conferences for over 200 + guests in the largest events room.
The company are looking for a person with the following skills and experience,?
  • Organised and efficient individual, with the ability to multitask and effectively prioritise workload.
  • IT literate with experience using online systems Microsoft Office.
  • Able to support the M&E Sales Manager and Executives with incoming business leads, pricing point and help converting business.
  • Ability to use diary management and other events management systems effectively.
  • Ability to forecast, budget and analyse the Groups, Meetings & Events business in the hotel and support the DOS in planning activity to achieve budget
Previous meeting and events sales experience would be considered an asset for this position.
Also the person will be responsible for the achievement of the M&E budget in the hotel, via management of the M&E Sales Manager and supporting the DOS in generating new demand and focussing on conversion.
Regular coaching and training of the team in enquiry handling and conversion.
Management of the M&E Sales Manager and office, providing coaching, mentorship, and direction to the team.
Responsible for the team development
Weekly reporting and forecasting of the M&E, Groups, Weddings and Christmas figures, providing commentary on movement and against pace and budget
Responsibility for ensuring all Groups (+9 bedrooms), Meetings and Events are correctly contracted and payment and cancellation terms fully adhered to.
Implementing and following a robust enquiry handling and follow up process.
Preparation and involvement of annual budgets and attending hotel team and internal meetings on behalf of the Sales Office, including monthly Commercial Meetings
Working alongside the Director of Sales to ensure all revenue streams are being maximised,monitoring proposals, rates quoted and conversion %
Participation in relevant Sales activity which can include supporting on client entertaining, FAM trips and both prospecting and conversion calling days
Responsibility for the team responding to enquiries in a timely manner and adhering to standards, providing additional training and support as required.
Manage the M&E software, including regular auditing of the system to ensure the information is robust and accurate.
Create a positive work environment with the team as well as other departments in the hotel.
Reporting to the Director of Sales and a dotted line to the General Manager.
