Head Chef – St Helens area
£40k salary plus tips,bonus,pension,company discounts
Presently working with this great venue in the St Helens area for a hands on Head Chef,to lead their kitchen operations.
The business is in the leisure industry with facilities for casual dining and also offers space for events,functions and also is a popular wedding venue.
The client is looking for a hands on Head Chef to lead the kitchen with a small team of approx 3 team members that is then supported at present using agency staff when required.
The food is a mix of breakfast items ie bacon and sausage butties but then also offers Brasserie style dining in the venue’s restaurant and also a high standard of food in their function spaces which caters for up to 150 guests.
You will be involved in the kitchen and be able to develop and create new menus to attract the clients in the local area as well as being able to develop the food operation and to grow and develop the team over the next 6 months to one year with the planned development of the site by the owners.
You will be working generally as a single team with support of junior team members and KP’s and create a positive work environment for the kitchen.
Due to the present business you are able to use agency staffing when needed to events,weddings etc to support you and to ensure a high standard of food.
The main part of the role as Head Chef is to ensure the food is served to the highest of quality, all health & safety aspects of the business are compliant in line with legal standards and achieve the 5 stars associated with organised teams.
The client requires the chef to work over 5 days and manage the teams rotas and costs and this will also be for food cost controls to achieve budgets in line with agreed targets.
