We are supporting a busy, food-led pub in North Wales that is well known for its vibrant atmosphere and constantly evolving menu of fresh, locally sourced dishes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Sous Chef (Deputy Head Chef level) to join a well-established kitchen with a strong reputation for quality food, creativity, and consistency. The focus is on fresh, hearty, and interesting dishes rather than fine dining, with plenty of freedom to contribute ideas and develop your own dishes.

The Role

Working closely with the Head Chef and General Manager, you will help lead the kitchen team and play a key role in delivering a menu that reflects the seasons, local produce, and customer expectations.

The menu combines well-loved classics with more adventurous, globally inspired dishes, and creativity is actively encouraged. This is a hands-on role suited to a chef who enjoys leading by example and taking pride in what leaves the pass.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Act as second-in-command within the kitchen team
• Lead, train, and develop the kitchen brigade
• Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
• Contribute to menu development and seasonal menu changes
• Ensure effective stock control, ordering, and waste management
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards
• Support smooth service during busy, high-volume periods

About You

• An experienced Senior Sous Chef or Deputy Head Chef
• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar fresh food kitchen
• Creative, passionate, and enthusiastic about cooking
• Strong leadership skills with a positive, team-focused approach
• Passion for fresh ingredients and local suppliers
• Organised, reliable, and calm under pressure
