We are supporting a well-established and character-filled pub on the Wirral that has recently undergone a major refurbishment and is now thriving as a popular destination for both dining and drinks.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Sous Chef to join a busy, food-led kitchen with a strong reputation for quality, consistency, and fresh cooking. The focus is on well-executed, seasonal food rather than fine dining, with creativity, local ingredients, and flavour at the heart of the menu.
The Role
As Senior Sous Chef, you will play a key role in helping to lead the kitchen, supporting the Head Chef, and ensuring high standards are maintained during busy, high-volume service.
You will be involved in menu planning and development and will be encouraged to bring your own ideas, influence dishes, and showcase your creativity. This is a hands-on role suited to a chef who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering great food consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Help lead and motivate the kitchen brigade
- Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
- Contribute to menu planning and seasonal changes
- Develop and introduce new dishes and ideas
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards are met
- Support smooth service during busy, high-volume periods
About You
- An experienced Senior Sous Chef
- At least 5 years’ experience working in a similar fresh food kitchen
- Background in busy, high-volume service environments
- Passionate about fresh ingredients and seasonal cooking
- Creative, enthusiastic, and detail-focused
- Strong leadership skills and a calm approach under pressure
