We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to oversee the bar operations of this very busy hotel operation,overseeing approx 5 bars across the operation which includes a main hotel cocktail bar and various other events,function bars across the venue.

As the Bar Manager one of their largest areas of the job will be to ensure a high standard of service at all times in this venue in a great rural countryside location near the Peak District.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality, with a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences.

As Bar Manager, you will be responsible for managing staff with a team of approx 30 staff including Assistant Manager and Supervisors, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with all food and drink safety regulations while fostering a positive work environment.

You will also require knowledge and experience of creating 1st class wine lists and cocktails to enhance the guest experience and make this a 1st choice for customers looking for that unique venue.

The client is also looking for an exceptional individual who is playing the host figure in the operation,you will require great guest services and ideally cocktail experience in line with trends and also at least a WSET 1 minimum ideally WSET 2.

Duties

  • Supervise and manage bar staff, ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to company standards.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of beverages, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Maintain inventory levels, placing orders as necessary to ensure the bar is well-stocked.
  • Implement and uphold food safety standards in accordance with health regulations.
  • Train and mentor staff on beverage preparation, serving techniques, and customer service skills.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food production and service during busy periods.
  • Develop creative drink menus that align with current trends and customer preferences.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor financial performance of the bar, including sales reporting and cost control measures.

Skills

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a bar or restaurant setting.
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent team management skills.
  • Background in food preparation and cooking is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
  • Culinary experience is beneficial for coordinating with kitchen operations.
  • Previous experience in hospitality or hotel environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with serving techniques and barista skills would be an asset.
