We are partnering with a well-established pub, restaurant, and hotel in Gloucestershire known for its welcoming atmosphere, quality seasonal food, and relaxed but refined dining experience. The venue offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner service daily and combines classic pub favourites with dishes influenced by seasonal British produce.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and experienced Head Chef to take full responsibility for the kitchen, lead a passionate team, and deliver consistently excellent food across all services.
The Role
As Head Chef, you will oversee every aspect of the kitchen, from menu creation and kitchen leadership to food quality and operational performance. You will be a visible presence during service, ensuring high standards and inspiring your team to deliver memorable food experiences in a busy, popular environment.
You will work closely with the management team to maintain consistent quality, control costs, and further enhance the food offering. This role suits someone with solid leadership experience who is ready to take ownership of a respected kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all kitchen operations
- Create, develop, and adapt the seasonal menu based on fresh, quality ingredients
- Maintain consistent food quality, portion control, and presentation standards
- Manage kitchen scheduling, food ordering, stock control, and waste reduction
- Coach, develop, and mentor kitchen staff to maximise performance and morale
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards
- Drive operational performance, productivity, and kitchen profitability
About You
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a busy kitchen environment
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant kitchen experience
- Strong leadership skills with a positive, supportive leadership style
- Passionate about seasonal ingredients and delivering consistently excellent food
- Organised, proactive, and calm under pressure
- A real team player who leads by example
