Hotel Assistant Manager - Reading area

£13.50 per hour 40 hour contract,O/T paid,pension,parking,gym membership,company discounts,career development

We are working with this hotel client in the Reading area who is recruiting for an Hotel Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of the hotel in the F&B department.

The hotel has over 100 + bedrooms with various F&B services which includes a casual dining 100 cover restaurant serving breakfast,lunch and dinner to hotel residents and local clients who use the facility,there is also a main hotel bar and various meeting rooms with largest room for up to 150 + guests.

The ideal candidate will have good leadership skills and the ability to ensure great guest service at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the hotel and focus on the F&B department, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning across departments.
  • Support the management team in supervising staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Deliver outstanding guest services by addressing guest enquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring overall satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with various departments such as housekeeping, front desk, and food & beverage to maintain high standards of service delivery.
  • Contribute to human resources activities including recruitment, onboarding, and staff development programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hotel policies at all times.
  • Assist in managing reservations, billing procedures, and administrative tasks to optimise operational efficiency.
  • Foster a welcoming environment by promoting teamwork and maintaining a professional appearance of the hotel.

Experience

  • Proven supervisory experience within the hospitality or hotel industry is essential.
  • Previous hotel experience is highly desirable, with a strong understanding of guest services and hospitality standards.
  • Multilingual or bilingual abilities are advantageous for communicating effectively with diverse guests and staff.
  • Experience in human resources management, including staff training and development, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
