Head Chef - nr Boat of Garten area
£24 per hour with minimum of 40 hours per week,3/4 month seasonal contract,live in available
This hotel client is looking for a Head Chef for their summer season to manage the kitchen and team.
The hotel has approx 50 + bedrooms and is a popular venue for leisure guests as well as coach parties.
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, ensuring standards of quality, safety, and presentation.
The menu's on offer are a limited A La Carte as well as a 4,4,4 menu for the coach parties which generally are 2/3 per evening during high season.
The food is generally a mix of fresh and frozen and the dishes are traditional British cuisine on offer with breakfast being a buffet style and lunches are bar snacks and sandwiches etc.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations
- Oversee food production, ensuring dishes meet quality standards and presentation expectations
- Manage food safety protocols, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations
- Coordinate food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring timely delivery during service hours
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain smooth kitchen operations
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, and create a positive team environment
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with hygiene standards
- Assist in serving customers when required, maintaining excellent hospitality standards
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Background in food production, cooking, and food preparation
- Strong team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff effectively
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a commercial kitchen setting
